The kind of arrangement—band, chorus, orchestra, etc. The number of copies or parts; Who is making the arrangement—you, a student, or someone for hire; Who will perform the arrangement—your chorus, the local symphony; Whether you will sell the arrangement and its price.   This book will definitely augment (pun intended) your arranging knowledge, but if you're just starting, I'd highly recommend "Modern Jazz Voicings" by Ted Pease and Ken Pullig, "Arranging for Large Jazz Ensemble" by Ken Pullig, and/or a good jazz theory book as a starting point the denser parts of this book will make more sense after s:

Piano Songbooks and Sheet Music Guitar, Bass and Folk Instruments Educational Piano Vocal Choral and Classroom Church Music Band, Jazz and Orchestra Solo Instrumental Drums and Percussion Classical Trade and Reference Books Software and Music Technology Instruments and Accessories Featured Series Play-Along Series. Carnival bands in the UK are a prime example of this, performing more elaborate shows and even reciting arrangements of popular songs and film themes, though still utilising British brass band sheet music. Some traditional marching bands in the UK will recite hymns, or marches while on parades or other celebrations.

7 FULL BAND ARRANGEMENTS Carefully paced throughout the book, these full arrangements provide a focal point for the material in each unit. They also provide rewarding performance pieces even in the beginning stages. The arrangements start out very easy and then gradually progress in complexity as more techniques and concepts are learned.
